The Window (Flamborough Head)

Acrylic on canvas

30cm x 42cm

2025

This piece draws from Monet’s iconic ‘Cliffs at Etretat’, reinterpreted through the lens of the Yorkshire coastline. The rugged forms and soft light echo the wild beauty of both regions. At its heart, the opening in the rock becomes a symbol, an aperture through which light and possibility pour in. Amidst the weight of stone and sea, it speaks of hope: ever-present, even when it seems hidden.
