This piece is inspired by Monet’s ‘Cliffs at Etretat’, but based on the Yorkshire coastline. At its heart, the opening in the rock becomes a symbol, an aperture through which light and possibility pour in. Amidst the weight of stone and sea, it speaks of hope: ever-present, even when it seems hidden.
